See more about 'VTG Victorian Pressed Metal Open Work Heart Buckle Belt' Description VTG Victorian Pressed Metal Open Work Hearts Buckle & BeltDescription This is an absolutely stunning vintage belt with buckles in almost superb condition for it's age. Made from graduated sized curved panels that are stamped & have open work & are linked together. The material used is metal with a silver wash over it (note that there is wear to the silver wash) and the raised "jewels" in the metal looks like cut steel but they are not riveted to the panels as I have seen in other cut steel pieces. (see photos). The belt also has a loop to one side of it (see photos) that I am guessing a chatelaine was hung from. The buckles are heart shaped and just hook into the ends of the belt, also note that the can hook into the second panels from the end to adjust size. The belt (without the buckles) measures measures 25 1/2 inches long. With the buckles it measures 27 inches long. The belt is narrow at the front at 1 inch wide and widens at the back to 1 1/2 inches wide. The heart shaped buckles each measure 1 7/8" wide and tall. Again, the condition of this old belt is just amazing. The only problem I can find is the wear to the silver wash finish. I've added many photos to show this amazing belt including some photos of markings (possible signatures etc) from the tip of the buckle hook. To me they look like chicken scratches but could be a signature and wanted to add them for your viewing. See my other listings for more great items!
