DESCRIPTION: Presenting a very unusual 1950's black Alligator handbag, by the prestige maker, Lucille de Paris. This rectangular shaped design, has a gold chain handle on each side, woven with a narrow alligator strip. As shown, the purse actually opens to reveal three sections, for extra carrying space. The center section opens with a stunning Gold designer snap (see photo), and contains two pockets on each side, one with a zipper. It is stamped in Gold on one side with the Lucille logo, which includes the alligator reading a book. This premier Maker of exotic skin handbags, was located in New York City. Lucille de Paris was considered a prestige, luxury designer /maker, in the 1950's & '60's, and the company's fine, enduring, vintage items continue this reputation today. They advertised in all the famous fashion magazines such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, etc. Well-known and still recognized for using the finest, perfectly matched skins, plus detailed craftsmanship! SIZE: Purse measures 6-1/2"t. x 9".w., and bottom width is 5". Each handle is 17-1/2" long, and rises 6-1/2" above center top edge of bag.
