This auction is for another of my favourite items and one of the rarest.  This wonderful cane handle is in the form of a skull which at the push of a gold button transforms to reveal glass eyes and a red tongue!  It measures 65mm or just over 2 1/2" tall and 31mm or approx. 1 1/2 " wide.  It is in remarkable condition for its age with no damages or repairs and is superbly modelled.   The gold ferrule is 18 carat and fully hallmarked for LONDON 1881,maker J.O.  The ferrule has a button incorporated at the back which you press to activate the eyes and tongue.  It too is gold and is orginal to the handle and ferrule. I've added a photo that shows the underside of the ferrule and thread inside.  It measures 14mm in diameter. I have had some great walking stick handles over the years but this would have to be the best.  If you collect quality cane handles then DON'T MISS OUT!!   This item was legally imported into New Zealand and will come with a CITES certificate to enable legal importation.
