For auction is this beautiful vintage Bottega Veneta brief case bought in Italy around 1986. It is part of a set as shown in the photo below. Bottega Veneta does not make a similar finish as this was bought prior to their acquisition by Gucci Group. I can assure you that it is far more lovely in person than in the photos. It is a small suitcase or "weekender," and can also be used as a brief case. It is exquisitely made by hand in a lovely vachetta (cow hide). The vachetta shows natural yellowing in certain areas, it is a natural effect of the undyed leather and is part of its inherent allure. The brief case is trimmed in a bordeaux leather and is accented with gold brass cornering and finishes. It opens by two dial locks, each opens independently of the other, and has a matching bordeaux leather handle with attached address tag. It's a slightly oversized brief case, measuring 19 5/8L x 14.5W x 5 3/4H and opens to reveal a handsome beige lined interior with an elasticized pocket and two belt-like straps to keep the contents from shifting. This vintage brief case exudes an aura of travel that we no longer see today. It has an inherent luxurious "feel" of travel and of a leisurely holiday. It's a great collector's piece as well as a gorgeous decoration piece, especially when displayed with it's sister suitcases. It has only been used once, for the return trip from Italy and has been stored since its one and only journey. It does have some slight marks and scuffs from the journey. The marks can be removed with the proper leather treatments. Apart from this, the trunk is in excellent condition. This auction is for the the smallest suitcase/brief case shown in the photo below.
