The hat is truly a vintage hat in jet black French fur felt with the brim edged in a faux leather...the body is so soft to the touch. I wrapped the crown with an exquisite organza embroidered and beaded trim in a flower, leaf and vine design...I designed it so that the trim meets into a v-shape on the side...giving it a bit of elegant interest. The embroidery is done with a platinum thread and the bugle beads are in a charcoal platinum glass bugle beads with matching seed beads. The edges are stitched in a trellis pattern...absolutely beautiful for your eyes to behold. I added a soft teal green faux suede beneath the sheer organza to give this hat a lovely color contrast...soft and soothing. I placed an art deco dress clip from the 1930's right in the center of the v-shape...the clip has delightful and bright rhinestones in round, teardrop and baguette shapes...glamorously beautiful!!! To finish off the design I added some vintage black feather plumes shoot out from the top of the clip, which gives this hat the true essence of the roaring 20's era. This hat has an original marking on the inside that reads "Cotillion" imported body made in France with the original size tag that reads Large and a union label. This hat is in perfect vintage condition and lent itself sweetly to my design...which I kept in true period elegance. Perfect for a 1920's inspired soiree or for a night on the town. You can wear this hat different ways...as you can see in the photos below. The brim on both sides can be worn up or down...the detail can be worn on either side or the back. There is one tiny baguette rhinestone missing on the dress clip, however...it truly does not take away from the beauty of this original design...it's not even that noticeable, as you can see in the closeup of the clip. This is a beautiful one-of-a-kind original chapeau with such sweet feminine detailing. A unique hat made especially for you.
