Description   Elegant Victorian Gown You are bidding on a Gorgeous Victorian reproduction gown/dress. This dress does not fit over a bustle. This outfit is made from patterns authentic in detail to the period and is hand made by me; please see my "me page". This gown consists of 5 pieces: Bodice, skirt, overskirt, jabot and hat! This dress has been made from an original dress I have in my inventory. This dress is from the natural form era around 1877-1882.  It has been a process to make a pattern out of the original dress as the original was so fragile and falling apart. You really didn't want to touch the dress much before you understood how it was put together. Some parts were apart from the dress and it was hard to figure out where they belonged. I had to try to match up seams and stitches in the material. I had lots of fun seeing how it was sewn and trimmed, all the time thinking about how old it really is! Please contact me regarding fabric colors if you have any questions about availability etc. This gown is shown over a petticoat*not included*       Please click on picture to enlarge         Please click on picture to enlarge Details on the side back Description This Victorian gown was made entirely of beautiful pale green faille, trimmed with 68 REAL Mother of Pearl buttons and ivory cording and lace.   The bodice buttons down the front with 13 Mother of Pearl buttons. It also has a unique trimming along the front, each point has been trimmed with ivory cording and Mother of Pearl buttons. The same trimming has been done down the lower back. The back hem also has a box pleated trim and a bow with sashes. A lace jabot adorns the front and the bodice can be worn with or without this jabot. The bodice feature full length sleeves which have been trimmed with intricate cuffs made out of the faille fabric, ivory lace, cording and MOP buttons. The bodice is fully lined and underlined entirely with 100% cotton fabric and is boned with steel boning. The underskirt is made entirely of the pale green faille and a box pleated trim adorns the entire hem. The skirt closes at the side with hooks and eyes. The stunning overskirt is very intricately decorated.  The front of the skirt has been hand sewn into a quilted look. The sides of the quilted front are a layer of fabric which has points. Each point has ivory cording and MOP buttons. The whole front also has been adorned with the cording and MOP buttons. The back has several layers of fabric and box pleated trims. Bows with sashes adorn the dress in various places, (front, back and sides). Please see pictures for details as it is so much to write about. If you have any questions at all please don't hesitate to email me.  The overskirt has ties at the back to adjust the back and it closes at the side with hook and eye.      The matching pale green faille hat is built on a buckram and wire frame.  The hat is trimmed with lots of lace, feathers and flowers. This hat sits perched on top of your head and is held in place with hat pins*not included*.
