Sartorial reinterpretation of the past with bows, artisanal silk flowers, scenographic décolletages and spectacular backs. Classic colors like white, ivory and cream remained dominant in every collection, in 2008 the color palette is enriched with nuances of gold and pink. One dominant trend seen from all the designers was the skirt volume, becoming exaggeratedly ample, with balloon or grand ball skirts, ample tucked short skirts and bon ton. Do not take your own measurements, have somebody else do it for you or get measured** by a professional. When purchasing a wedding dress, most brides will need some alterations. This can happen even when you buy in a bridal shop, inevitably there are charges for each alteration. We suggest you choose a size that is a little larger, rather than smaller. It is easier to take a dress in then to let a dress out. It is also a good idea to check with your local seamstress on how much alterations may cost. DO NOT GO BY YOUR DRESS SIZE to determine your wedding dress size. Usually wedding dresses are smaller than then regular sizes, and imports from Europe may run even smaller. Always order the size that will accommodate the largest measurement taken. Gowns can be let out 1 to 1 1/2 inches in the sides and perhaps 1 inch in the zipper area. It is better to order bigger rather than smaller, the gown can always be taken in. 1. Length shoulder to breast Beginning where the neckline and the shoulder meet to highest point of the breast. 2.
