Description
ISSEY MIYAKE 100% Sheep Skin Leather Jacket   Christmas Holiday Sale Price Buy It Now only $1195!    Details At auction is an ultra-rare Issey Miyake 100% sheep skin leather jacket in a motorcycle-esque style.  Simply put, you will not find another one of these anywhere:  I know, I have looked!  The pictures describe this jacket better than I can, but I can tell you that the leather is absolutely butter soft, as you would expect from such a high-end maker on such a rare item.  You will not be disappointed!   Issey Miyake   Born in Hiroshima Japan before World War II, Japanese designer Issey Miyake studied graphic design before turning his hand to fashion, which may help those unfamiliar with his work understand his innovative cut and scultural garments.  He studied in Tokyo and then Paris before he started working for Guy Laroche, Givenchy and then Geoffrey Beene.  After gaining practical experience, he established Issey Miyake in Tokyo in 1970 and started to show his line at the Paris Collections in 1973.   Miyake's basic tenets for making clothes has always been the idea of creating a garment from 'one piece of cloth', and the exploration of the space between the human body and the cloth that covers it. His approach to design has always been to strike a consistent balance between tradition and innovation, handcrafts and new technology.   The clothing designer Issey Miyake is some kind of artist, although which kind is not always clear.  His persona seems to change. He alternately comes across as a brilliant inventor, elitist haute couturier, artist's collaborator, origami master, generic surrealist, high-tech impresario and occasionally as someone who does very good store-window displays.   There's not much doubt about Mr. Miyake's originality. With the help of a studio that includes talented fabric designers, he has made some of the most radical clothing of his time -- if it is not ahead of his time -- introducing synthetic materials and initiating or perfecting new techniques: most notably, his signature pleating and wrinkling processes.   If in these instances Mr. Miyake isn't a fine artist, he has no need for the term. He has transformed the making of clothing into such an elaborate, deliberate and thoughtful applied art that it encompasses most other artistic disciplines, painting, sculpture and architecture included.   The weight of his ambition can sometimes make his clothes conceptually heavy. To wear many of them you have to be willing to make a statement, to stand out in a crowd, even a New York or Paris crowd. But once you put these garments on, their engineering tends to win you over: they are usually weightless and effortless to wear, and they grant an amazing amount of freedom of movement. Note: The low reserve/starting price/Buy It Now is an opportunity to induce interest and bidding, and is not an indicator for the monetary worth of the item.  In some cases, we have obtained the item at a very low cost and are passing that value on to you in the interest of a quicker sale. Unfortunately, as the news suggests, eBay fraud is becoming quite prevalent on both the Selling and Buying ends. I do not want to be a victim and I want my customers to be happy with the transaction. For this reason, the terms and conditions of this sale are laid out up front, for my protection and YOURS. If you are unhappy with any of the terms and conditions listed herein, do NOT bid on this auction.
